Planning a trip to the Beaverkill River, Delaware River, or Esopus Creek? Make sure you're fully prepared by learning to tie some of the best dry flies for the Catskills region. Spend a couple of hours with us honing your fly-tying skills to set yourself up for success.     

  • All tying materials will be provided for students to use but bring your favorite vise and tools.    

  • We've carefully chosen a set of steelhead specific fly patterns that will help you understand a range of fundamental techniques and patterns.

  • You will learn about proportions so that the finished fly looks and acts appropriately on the water.

  • We will explore a variety of the materials that we stock in our fly shop, so that you become familiar with how they are used.

  • The class will include tips and tricks that will make the fly-tying process more enjoyable.

  • You will leave the class equipped with the  skills needed to expand the craft.

Your instructor Sam Reibman has been with TCO since 2018 and has experience in educating fellow anglers on the essentials for tying flies. Come join us..
