Richard French - Slipstream Angling
Traveling the world with a fly rod is everything to me and I say this because taking care of our clients and organizing their fly-fishing trips has given me a truly remarkable life. So strong was the call of travel with a fly rod that I quit my PHD in 1999 to start my first fly fishing travel business. From those humble beginnings, we now send guests all over the world, both freshwater and salt, to roughly 35 countries and over 150 destinations. Slipstream doesn’t just talk the talk. We walk the walk and I host between 8-10 trips per year to a multitude of global destinations. Cuba, New Zealand and the Seychelles are my Top 3 favorite places to host trips. Regardless of where I go, getting out there and dealing with both the good and bad, is critical to what I do.
The global network I’ve built over the past 25 years is incredibly unique and far reaching and this allows me to do some very special customized trips for our clients. Milestone trips (significant birthdays, anniversaries, retirement, etc) account for about 20% of our business and we’ve even done several Honeymoon trips for clients. From Michelin Star restaurants to helicopter pilots in remote, out of the way places, if you can dream it, we can do it!
