Yellow Breeches

Yellow Breeches Stream Report

Fishing Overview

We need some rain. Subsurface fishing such as streamers should produce as well as eggs, scuds, and midges. If you are looking for dry fly action, small midges in sizes 20-26, BWO's in sizes 20-24, or little black stoneflies in sizes 16-20 should produce. The open water on the Yellow Breeches is now CLOSED until April 5 (Statewide opener). Call or visit TCO fly shop for more details.

General Info

Specific Tips

Don't hesitate to use a good scud pattern in olive or tan. The Breeches are full of them and they are evident all year. Try sizing down on your fly pattern if the fish get picky. This is a great time of year to throw streamers.

If the "Breeches" is unfishable, we do have some great Spring Creeks in the area.
