Nearby: My favorite river locally is Penns Creek, but I also love exploring small streams in remote places for brook trout.
Far: It’s hard to beat backpacking to high altitude lakes and streams for Cutthroat in Rocky Mountain National Park. I’ve also enjoyed fishing most of the major tailwaters of Colorado such as the Taylor, South Platte and Fryingpan Rivers.

What music is being played on your way to the stream? 

A little bit of everything. My last three recently played artists on Spotify include Bob Dylan, The Mars Volta and Outkast.

I was deep into the whitewater kayaking world for many years before immersing myself into fly fishing. I also like camping and backpacking, especially when coupled with a place to fish. In addition, I’m an avid upland bird hunter and spend my fall pushing fields for pheasants with my lab, Annie.
