It’s that time of year again when the steelhead arrive! Come join us to learn a few tried-and-true flies that we have found productive over the years. Whether you are fishing in PA or NY, you will leave with a new understanding of the patterns and sizes that are most effective.        

  • All tying materials will be provided for students to use but bring your favorite vise and tools.    

  • We've carefully chosen a set of steelhead specific fly patterns that will help you understand a range of fundamental techniques and patterns.

  • You will learn about proportions so that the finished fly looks and acts appropriately on the water.

  • We will explore a variety of the materials that we stock in our fly shop, so that you become familiar with how they are used.

  • The class will include tips and tricks that will make the fly-tying process more enjoyable.

  • You will leave the class equipped with the  skills needed to expand the craft.

Your instructor, John Parisi, a guide and the manager of our Bryn Mawr store, has been with TCO since 2015. John has extensive experience fly fishing for steelhead.     

Patterns:   Nuke egg, Sucker Spawn, Egg Sucking Leech
