The only beer you should be drinking while tying this Thanksgiving...

When the summer ends and Fall begins the chilly air brings in new beer styles and different fly fishing techniques. Coffeys Sparkle Minnow and Troegs The Mad Elf is essential for a successful and fun day on the water.  I’ve always had a love for streamer fishing and good brews especially in the Fall in Southeast and Central Pennsylvania. Coffey’s Sparkle Minnow is a favorite streamer pattern around our shops. With 2 toned marabou and EP sparkle brush it is a fairly easy fly to tie. Many different color combinations can represent any of the baitfish swimming in your local water. I fish these with a Winston Alpha+ 6wt. Bauer RX4 reel and a Scientific Angler Titan Long or Titan Sonar Clear Tip.

Troegs brewing has been a favorite of my wife and I for many years. So much we had our wedding reception held in the Barrel room! The Mad Elf is always on our table around the holidays. This is how Troegs describes this delicious ale “ this cheerful red creation reminiscent of ripened cherries, raw honey and cocoa with notes of cinnamon, clove and allspice.” This ruby red ale will sure put a smile on your face even if the fish aren’t in the mood to put a tug on your fly line.
Be sure to check out our shops for your fly tying materials and any of your fly fishing or outdoor activities . In need of a day trip? Take a drive to Hershey and visit the Troegs brewery. The beer menu will suit anybody beer loving person and the food is amazing with exquisite chef creations made with local ingredients.

Prost!
